At City of Refuge Community Church (CRCC), we believe that serving God is not just about the big moments, but about every act of kindness and every moment of dedication, whether it’s through worship, giving, or simply offering your time to God’s work. When we serve in church, whether it’s leading worship, tithing, cleaning the church, or helping with events, we’re not doing it for a pastor, leader, or congregation. We are doing it for God. Each task, from the simplest to the most complex, is an opportunity to worship and to express our love for Him. As 1 Corinthians 15:58 reminds us: “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”

Whether you are serving as a greeter, usher, part of the worship team, or offering your time to help clean and maintain the church, know that your work is valuable in God’s kingdom. Every action, from the smallest to the grandest, is a reflection of your love and devotion to God. Serving in the church is not just about completing tasks; it is an act of worship, and a chance to be a part of something greater than ourselves.

Giving—through tithes, offerings, and acts of service—is also a significant way we can honor God with our lives. It’s not about the amount, but the heart behind it. When we give, we acknowledge that everything we have belongs to God, and we trust Him to use it for His glory. Our time, talents, and treasures all belong to Him, and by offering them back in service, we are participating in His work on Earth.
